Comparative Analysis in Rape Research Network (CAIRRN) seminar in Glasgow

October 26, 2011

I recently presented some of my research at a meeting of the Comparative Analysis in Rape Research Network (CAIRRN) working group. Hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, the seminar participants presented research on legal and medical responses to rape in the US, UK, and Canada. I’ll link to slides from the presentations when they are posted; information from the study of forensic examiners in the UK includes discussion of some issues that should be of concern to US SANE programs, and the Canadian SANE model illustrates a victim-centered approach to the post-rape exam that could offer US providers good ideas about medical care for sexual assault survivors.
